A coalition of Chelsea community groups has launched a petition to demonstrate community support for the conversion of the railway corridor into a community trail. SCT encourages you to take a look at www.ouichelsea.ca , to sign if you agree, and to pass the link along to other Chelsea residents!

In a world that needs constructive dialogue, this petition is a way for Chelsea’s mayor and council to understand how people in support of the trail think it will benefit them and this community. It also aims to encourage the necessary next steps to take place (e.g. the environmental assessment and seeking governmental grants). The response from the population in just two weeks and the comments written on the site are already a fascinating window into what residents value and seek to achieve for their family and community life.

The coalition behind this petition includes: Chelsea Trails, Action Chelsea for the Respect of the Environment (ACRE), Friends of the Gatineau River, Rails-2-Trails, Chelsea North Recreation Committee, and the Cascades Club.
