Karl  lives on Dunn Road in Chelsea with his  his wife Megan McTavish and two-year old daughter Leena and they enjoy walking, cycling, and riding the bus whenever it is possible.  He is a Ph.D. candidate with the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa. His research compares the long-term promotion of walking, cycling and public transit use in the cities of Helsinki, Finland and Ottawa.Previously, he worked for five years as a health policy analyst with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, where his favorite folder was the one marked “active transportation.”
