A huge thank you to all the volunteers who came out to help clear the Chelsea Railway Corridor in preparation for the grooming of the winter trail. Over three weekends, more than 40 volunteers cleared 18kms of trail, working a minimum of 196 volunteer hours. Now all we need is snow!

Sentiers Chelsea Trails is working with the Municipality of Chelsea and other community partners to bring the Chelsea Community Winter Trail back for the 2015 season.
We need your help! Some sections of the railway corridor are obstructed by weeds and brush. We need volunteers who can come out and help clear the corridor so we can have a great winter trail.
Thanks to all the volunteers who came out last Saturday, Nov. 15th to help clear the northern section of the corridor. On Saturday, Nov. 29 we will work on the south end.
When: Saturday, Nov. 29 & Dec. 6 from 9am to 12pm.
Where: Meet at the intersection of chemin Mill or chemin Patrick and the railway crossing at 9am.
What: Useful equipment includes gloves, safety glasses, pruners, shears and scythes. SCT will have gas powered brush cutters. Please bring your our safety equipment if you have it.
Please let us know if you are available on Saturday. We hope to have at least 3 crews of 4 to 6 people going south and north along the corridor. Dec. 6th is also scheduled for another section of the track.

Work continues on the municipal trail near chemin Des Pommiers. Volunteers are seen here constructing boardwalks over wet areas. The Municipality of Chelsea provides tools and materials and Chelsea Trails volunteers provide labour. This trail now stretches from Route 105 to Winnisic Road with a connection to chemin des Pommiers

Chelsea’s first official community trail signs have now been installed to mark three trailheads on the Des Pommiers trail, located in the Cascades area of Chelsea. One trailhead is located near the top of Chemin Des Pommiers, and the second is located on Route 105, several hundred metres north of Pine Road and the third is on Chemin Winnisic.

A big thank you to the volunteers who helped clear most of the two trails planned for the southern sector of Chelsea Park. Only a few small sections remain. Presently we are taking a break for more planning and discussions with private landowners. If all goes well, we should be able to put the finishing touches on the two trails starting the end of September to early November, 2014. We’ll keep you informed.
